
Heating Your Bathroom Without the Wait
Let’s be honest: there’s nothing worse than stepping out of a hot shower into a freezing cold bathroom. It’s a shock to the system. Usually, we try to fix this by heating the air, but that’s a losing battle. The heat just floats up to the ceiling while your toes stay ice-cold. That’s why we lean on shortwave infrared (IR). Instead of trying to warm up the whole room, IR goes straight for the target. It warms you and the surfaces around you directly. Instant warmth, no waiting. Here is the cool part about the physics: shortwave IR is fast. Really fast. While a traditional radiator takes forever to get going, an IR heater hits its peak temperature in seconds. You flip a switch, and you feel the heat on your skin almost immediately. It turns a chilly dressing area into a cozy spot before you’ve even finished drying off. But bathrooms are tough on gear. Between the steam, the splashes, and the humidity, things tend to rust or short out. To stop that from happening, we use quartz glass tubes. They can handle the wild temperature swings without cracking and they don’t corrode. We also fill them with halogen gas to make sure you’re getting as much heat as possible. And since electricity and water are a bad mix, we wrap everything in IP-rated housings to keep the guts of the machine dry and safe. A few things to keep in mind for the install. These heaters pack a punch, which means they pull a lot of power. You’ll want to double-check your wiring and breakers so you aren’t tripping the power every time you want to get warm. Placement is also a big deal. If you mount the heater too low, it’ll feel like you’re standing too close to a campfire. Too high, and you lose that luxury “hotel feel” where the warmth hugs you from the floor up. Our trick? Stagger the heights. It spreads the heat out more naturally so there are no weird cold spots in the room.
