The Nitty-Gritty on the Tech
These lamps use short-wave radiation. Instead of trying to heat up all the air in the room (which is a losing battle outdoors), the heat travels in a straight line right to you. It feels instant. We also use high-purity silica. Why? Because nobody wants a lamp that turns a gross yellow color after a few months. This keeps the heat steady and the light clean across the whole tube. And the wiring? We seal the connectors tight. If moisture sneaks into the terminals, the current arcs, and your lamp is toast. Simple as that.
A Few Things to Watch Out For During Install
You can’t just plug these into any old outlet and call it a day. These lamps pull a massive amount of power the second you flip the switch. If your breakers aren’t sized for that initial surge, you’ll be tripping them all day. Also, the “explosion-proof” part only covers the tube. The housing still needs a rock-solid ground. If your grounding is sloppy, the waterproof rating is basically useless. Do yourself a favor: use a dedicated GFCI circuit. When you’re mixing high-voltage heat and water, it’s the only way to sleep easy at night.
